This Lunch Talk will provide an overview of facial age estimation and verification solutions, a field that has seen significant surge in recent years. During this talk Dr. Thomas Petit and Dr. Ana Stefania Calarasanu will discuss the state-of-the-art techniques, challenges, and limitations of such solutions with a particular focus on the latest NIST FATE report and its implications for the industry.
Curriculum vitæ
Thomas Petit received his PhD from the University of Lyon, France in 2022. His thesis focused on multimodal person identification in TV shows, using both biometrics and contextual informations. He later joined Unissey, a french biometrics company, specialised in face analysis and identity verification. His works focuses on various subjects, spanning from face recognition, facial age estimation, to deepfake detection and injection attack detection.
Ana Stefania Calarasanu holds a PhD in image processing from the Pierre et Marie Curie University and EPITA. Her research focused on text detection in natural scene images to benefit visually impaired individuals. Since then, she has developed AI solutions to mitigate fraudulent activities in facial recognition systems and has contributed to the development of image quality metrics used by leading smartphone manufacturers in camera tuning.
