Palm recognition strengthens remote identity verification by adding a practical "private" biometric alongside faces. Unlike facial images, palms are rarely available online, raising the bar for attackers. Each user provides up to four biometric samples — palmar and dorsal sides of both hands — enabling multi-hand and multi-side fusion. Combined with facial recognition, this multi-modal approach significantly boosts accuracy and security.
The presentation covers a risk-based user journey, onboarding requirements, transparency considerations, and includes results for multi-hand and multi-side fusion experiments.
