Ethical and Societal Policy Priorities in Biometrics in 2015

The main goal of the meeting will be to identify convergence points between the three committees and set a common strategic agenda for 2015. This is particular important in view of the finalisation of the EU data protection reform, which is – after the positive vote of the EP – in home stretch toward becoming law. As you know the new directive is affecting biometrics in various ways, not only indirectly, but also addressing directly the legal status of biometric data.
